The Journey

  • FIFA 17 – The Journey: The first ever FIFA story mode

I only ever play FIFA games when slightly sozzled and in the company of friends, so I have no ruddy idea if fans have been calling out for a narrative mode all these years. But regardless, they’re getting it.
FIFA 17 introduces The Journey – the first ever story mode in a FIFA game.
Players will take the role of Alex Hunter, a rising star in the Premier League, all beautifully renered in the Frostbite engine. So get excited about that.
The Journey will feature Premier League managers in another first for the franchise, playing themselves, including Arsène Wenger and Jose Mourinho.
FIFA 17 will release globally on September 29 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

The graphics and the worlds look immersive and elements hint at the inclusion of non-footballing events in the mode.

  • The story had consultants like Harry Kane, Premier League Golden Boot winner from Tottenham Hotspurs and Tom Watt, who was the ghost-writer of David Beckham's book My Side.

Apart from this mode, EA has again reworked the game mechanics which is something apparent from the trailer. And this time around, Lionel Messi is no longer the official face of the game. Instead, youngsters like Eden Hazard, James Rodriguez, Anthony Martial and Marco Reus feature on the cover.

This mode was demanded by fans for a very long time and its great to see EA listen to fans. This year’s FIFA is certainly gonna be amazing and this is coming from a long time FIFA player who was sick of the stale gameplay. Let us know what you think of FIFA 17 “The Journey” mode in the comments below.
